This morning, eight rivers in the northeast and southeast of Bangladesh are flowing above the danger threshold, making the situation with flooding in Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, and Moulvibazar worse.

The Department of Disaster Management and Relief claims that Approximately 1,89,663 families have been left stranded as a result of the flash flood, which has devastated 43 upazilas across multiple districts.

At least 15 people have died as rescuers struggle to reach those in need as floodwaters have stranded hundreds of thousands in Bangladesh’s eastern region and northeastern India, according to reports from officials and the media on Thursday.

Since Wednesday, floods and mudslides in the Bangladesh-bordering northeastern state of Tripura, India, have caused thousands of people to be displaced and at least 11 fatalities.
