More than £12 million will be allocated to two initiatives that provide addiction services in Northern Ireland and the border counties.
A project that helps people with alcohol dependence and another that pilots digital gadgets to help those who battle with substance misuse share the funds, which were provided through the cross-border Peaceplus initiative.
Every project should “improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable people across our society,” according to Health Minister Mike Nesbitt.
“Substance use impacts the lives of too many individuals, families and communities across Northern Ireland, and indeed on both sides of the border,” he stated in a press release.
