KARACHI: In the last 48 hours, at least 131 Pakistanis have been deported from 12 countries for a variety of offenses, such as drug-related offenses, unauthorized immigration, and job abandonment.
74 Pakistanis were deported by Saudi Arabia for drug sales and abruptly quitting their jobs, according to immigration sources.
A number of Pakistanis were also ejected by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on suspicion of drug-related offenses, theft, and unlawful entrance.
One of them was deported back to Pakistan right away after being refused entry upon arrival. For reportedly trying to commit suicide, another person was expelled from the United Arab Emirates.
Deportations of Pakistani nationals from Oman, Cambodia, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Mexico also occurred.
