ISLAMABAD The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted a motion made by Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to prevent the trial court from publishing the outcome of the £190 million settlement lawsuit.
Judge Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC and Justice Babar Sattar of the divisional bench heard a request from the ousted prime minister on Monday. The plea sought records for a previous National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ruling to close the graft case.
In a case that also involves a real estate magnate, the PTI chairman who is currently in prison is charged with causing the national exchequer to lose billions of dollars.
Salman Safdar, Khan’s attorney, argued during the hearing that the former prime minister is still being investigated in the reference, and the final of the 35 witnesses are under cross-examination.
