KHYBER: According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, terrorists opened fire on a police checkpoint in the Charwazagai neighborhood of the district, killing two police officers and a civilian.
Terrorists attacked the police checkpoint along the Pak-Afghan highway close to Landi Kotal Bazar, killing police officers, including Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alamzeb, and injuring one police officer and a civilian, according to District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas, who spoke with News.
After the attack, the terrorists left the area.
The citizens who were attacked and killed, according to the authorities, were bystanders. Due to their serious condition, the police officers and civilians who had been brought to the Landi Kotal Hospital for prompt medical attention were later transferred to the Hayatabad Medical Complex in Peshawar.Situated three kilometers away from Landi Kotal Bazar on the Pak-Afghan highway, the police station was targeted by terrorists.
The DPO claims that following the incident, security was heightened throughout the district.
