KURRAM: In a new violent event, attackers opened fire on passenger cars in the Ochat region of Kurram district on Thursday, killing at least 38 people, including a lady and a child, according to authorities who spoke to News.
In addition to the deaths, police claimed the strike targeted the convoy traveling from Parachinar to Peshawar and injured several others, including three women.
The injured were moved to several hospitals, some of which are being treated at THQ Hospita Alizai, they added.
Several passengers were killed and injured when the convoy of vehicles was assaulted in the district’s Char Khel and Mandori neighborhoods. Unknown gunmen continued to fire at the vehicles for over an hour.
The incident was highly denounced by President Asif Ali Zardari.
