Approximately 25% of Japanese businesses have incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) into their operations, according to a Reuters poll performed on Thursday. However, over 40% of them do not have any ambitions to use this cutting-edge technology.
Nikkei Research conducted the poll on behalf of Reuters, distributing a set of questions to 506 organizations between July 3 and July 12. Approximately 250 businesses replied, requesting anonymity.
A little more than 24% of respondents indicated their businesses had previously used AI, 35% said they intended to, and 41% said they had no plans to do so. This demonstrates how corporate Japan has adopted technological advancement in a unique way.
costs,In response to a multiple-choice question about their objectives for deploying AI, 60% of respondents said they were trying to address the labor shortage, while 53% sought to lower labor costs and 36% indicated speeding research and development.
