Marcus Outzen, a former quarterback who became well-known during his exceptional time at Florida State, passed away on Tuesday. 46 was his age.
On social media, his son Colton announced his father’s passing.

The Tallahassee Democrat said that Outzen, also referred to as “The Rooster,” suffered from difficulties related to hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, a rare immune deficiency illness.
Per Johns Hopkins, the illness prevents the immune system from working correctly.
Bobby Bowden, a well-known coach, worked with Outzen from 1996 until 2000. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. After starting quarterback Chris Weinke was injured late in the 1998 season, Outzen took over as the starting quarterback for the Seminoles.
