During the previous eight months, Pakistan Railways Police, with the assistance of train crew, have rescued and reconnected up to 626 vulnerable children with their legal heirs and other welfare agencies.
An official from the Ministry of Railways told APP, “During the operation, the Railways Police have retrieved and returned around 2,000 lost luggages valued Rs 19.2 million to the passengers.”
Furthermore, the official reported that around 13,360 elderly, disabled, and handicapped passengers received wheelchairs, stretchers, and first aid during their train ride.
According to the divisional breakdown, the Rawalpindi division returned 13 runaway children to their parents and other welfare organizations, while the Lahore division reunited 146, Karachi division 128, Sukkur division 67, Peshawar division 66, Multan division 57, and Quetta division reunited 149.
