RAWALPINDI: In an effort to combat the threat of terrorism, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the nighttime hours of January 14–15 in Spinwam, North Waziristan, and killed four terrorists, also known as Khawarij.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed in a statement on Wednesday that “own troops effectively engaged Khawarij’s location during the conduct of the operation and after an intense exchange of fire.”
Along with the military’s media wing, the security forces also retrieved weapons and ammunition from the terrorists who were slain. These individuals were actively involved in a number of terrorist attacks against the security forces and targeted killings of innocent civilians.
The ISPR added that a sanitization operation was underway to get rid of any further terrorists that could be present.
