A man has been taken into custody by Mumbai police in relation to the knife attack on Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan that occurred last week.
The nation was startled when Khan, one of India’s top stars, was stabbed at home by an intruder. Following surgery, he is recuperating.
Police announced on Sunday that they had taken into custody the main suspect, Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, who was a Bangladeshi national who was unlawfully in India.
Mr. Shehzad is not from Bangladesh, according to his attorney, who has refuted the accusations.
According to the police, Mr. Shehzad was taken into custody from Thane, a district on the outskirts of Mumbai.
