When Eminem was cheering on his native Detroit Lions against the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco, he was in the minority.
Nevertheless, it didn’t stop him from teasing the 49ers fans in the stands in a nice manner.
Wearing Lions apparel, Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, was spotted turning the bird to 49ers supporters in his suite. He has attended every Detroit Lions home game this NFL postseason season, as his club has advanced to the penultimate game of the season by winning both games against the Los Angeles Rams and Tampa Bay Bucs.
Even though giving someone the middle finger is typically insulting, Eminem was joking when he did it because both parties ended up laughing. Naturally, some people on social media didn’t see it that way because it’s possible to take the video out of context.
However, a user named X directed viewers to another video in which Eminem was seen posing for photos with 49ers supporters who, in spite of their opposing allegiances, relished seeing him at the game.
At the conclusion of the game, Eminem was probably not grinning, but he was undoubtedly enjoying himself with the 49ers supporters.
The first half was presumably quite the scene in his suite, as three different players’ rushing touchdowns helped the Lions upset the 49ers by leading 24-7 at the interval.
