London: Pakistan Peoples Pakistan (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has stated that the country does not deserve another military takeover and has thrown his support behind a democratic future for the nation.
Bilawal stated, “The people of Pakistan are right to demand a better future… They certainly do not deserve another military coup,” at the Oxford Union’s Annual Benazir Bhutto Memorial Lecture.
The former foreign minister went on to stress the significance of free journalism, an independent judiciary, and democratic governance as being vital to the future of the nation.
In his tribute to his mother, the nation’s former prime leader Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal described her as an exceptional woman who promoted the notion that “democracy is the best revenge” rather than a personal grudge.
