QUETTA: In a major move, the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) declared on Wednesday that they would end their 20-day sit-in protest against police action and the detention of Baloch rights activists in Mastung.
Akhtar Mengal, the leader of the BNP-M, declared that the party would hold rallies in different areas in place of its protest at Lak Pass, citing public inconvenience.
According to him, the central cabinet of the party will convene in Quetta on April 18 to determine the next steps.
Prolonged road closures resulted from the party’s nearly three-week-long protests calling for the release of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Chief Organiser of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, and other imprisoned female activists.
