ISLAMABAD: The district government closed the civil society organization Pattan’s office on Friday, citing “illegal” operations.
A network of intellectuals, labor unions, community-based organizations (CBOs), and civil society organizations (CSOs) makes up the Pattan Coalition-38.
The administration claimed in a statement today that it had sealed Pattan’s headquarters in Sector F-15 of Islamabad, pointing out that the non-governmental organization had been disbanded in 2019. The NGO’s dissolution has not yet been revoked by a court, it noted.
In its “War on Voters?” report on the general elections held on February 8, the organization called for the creation of a commission of inquiry to look into and hold accountable anyone involved in alleged electoral tampering, according to The News earlier this month.
