During his CPAC speech Thursday night, Steve Bannon shouted “fight, fight, fight” before raising his right arm palm down, fingers pointed.
Speaking at the event on Friday, Bardella, the leader of France’s National Rally Party, was already in Washington. In a statement, he claimed that a “gesture referring to Nazi ideology” was the reason he was canceling his presentation.
In response to the Nazi analogy, Bannon described the motion as a “wave” and said it was the “exact same wave” he used while speaking to Bardella’s party in France seven years prior.
“He didn’t listen to the speech if he canceled it because of what the media reported about it. He is unfit to be the leader of France if that is the case.
