ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed petitions with the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench, asking for a probe into allegations of election tampering in the general elections held on February 8 and the creation of a judicial commission to look into events that occurred on May 9.
On February 28, a five-member panel led by Justice Amin-Ud-Din Khan will hear Imran’s arguments.
The former prime minister’s plea for a judicial investigation into the May 9 incidents was admitted for regular hearing by the constitutional bench earlier in December 2024. After giving the current petitions a number, the bench instructed its staff to resolve the matter.
Senior attorney Hamid Khan stated that the nation was experiencing “undeclared martial law” at the preliminary hearing.
