LAHORE: New Ramadan school schedules have been announced by the Punjab Education Department and will be followed by all of the province’s schools.
The announcement states that Monday through Thursday, schools will be open from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, and on Fridays, lessons will stop at 12:30 pm.
Schools that operate on two shifts will have a first shift from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and a second shift from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Female students will be dismissed fifteen minutes before the official closure hour, according to the notification.
On Friday, February 28, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will gather in Peshawar to witness the Ramadan moon. The holy month of fasting will start on March 1 (Saturday) if the crescent is visible.
