The Foreign Office (FO) stated on Friday that Pakistan is still worried about the weaponry the United States left behind after its hurried pullout from Afghanistan, amid a startling increase in cross-border terrorist attacks.
In 2022, the US Department of Defense reported that the US had left $7 billion worth of military equipment in Afghanistan, which was swiftly taken by Taliban fighters when they swept the nation in a rapid offensive.
Speaking at today’s weekly news briefing in Islamabad, FO Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan claimed that terrorists were using these “sophisticated weapons” to launch attacks within Pakistan.
He went on to say, “We have urged the international community and Afghan authorities to address this issue.”
