QUETTA: Three persons were arrested by police during a raid at the Quetta Press Club (QPC) on Saturday, which drew harsh criticism from press clubs and journalist organizations.
The administration of the press club announced in a statement that the people who were arrested were selected to take Women’s University job tests.
It stated that “the police barged into the premises and interfered,” and that after considering the matter, the administration will choose a course of action.
The Karachi Press Club, meanwhile, vehemently denounced the action and called it a breach of the QPC’s sanctity.
Its office bearers, President Fazil Jamili and Secretary Sohail Afzal, jointly released a statement.
