US President Donald Trump has received praise from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for recognizing and valuing Pakistan’s contribution to the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan.
He stated that Pakistan would keep working closely with the US to ensure peace and stability in the area in a post on his X Twitter on Wednesday.
His comments were made just hours after the US president praised the Pakistani authorities for capturing the “top terrorist” responsible for the bombing of the Kabul airport in 2021.
Shehbaz expresses gratitude to Trump for highlighting Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts in Afghanistan.
Thirteen US service men and about 170 Afghans who were frantically attempting to flee Kabul following the Taliban takeover were killed in the strike, which tragically brought an end to America’s longest battle in Afghanistan.
