Fifteen Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have been summoned by the federal government’s Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on charges of disseminating propaganda on social media.
Gohar Ali Khan, Hammad Azhar, Salman Akram Raja, Raoof Hasan, Asad Qaiser, Aun Abbas, and Waqas Akram are among those called. Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Shehbaz Shabbir, Aliya Hamza, Kanwal Shauzab, Taimoor Saleem Khan, Shah Farman, Mian Muhammad Aslam, and Khalid Khurshid Khan are among the others.
At 12 p.m. today, the PTI leaders are expected to appear before the JIT.
Sources claim that the JIT, which is headed by Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Inspector General of Police for Islamabad, is looking into claims of anti-state propaganda.
Ten members of the PTI’s social media staff have previously received summonses from the JIT.
