The Kremlin has targeted the Russian journalist for his investigations into Vladimir Putin’s regime, including one that exposed the operatives behind the 2018 Salisbury poisonings.
However, the Insider editor was unaware of the brunette woman standing behind him as he waited on the tarmac to catch a commercial flight from Budapest to Berlin in 2021, where he was to testify in a murder trial.
When she sat down next him, he didn’t give it any thought. He also failed to see the camera silently recording while fastened to her shoulder.
