The risk of “terrorism and potential for an armed conflict” has prompted the U.S. Department of State to caution its people against visiting Pakistan and to think twice before making the trip.
“Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting transportation hubs, markets, shopping malls, military installations, airports, universities, tourist attractions, schools, hospitals, places of worship, and government facilities,” according to the State Department’s Bureau of Consular Affairs’ “Level 3” travel advisory.
A Global Terrorism Index 2025 report states that in 2024, Pakistan was the second most afflicted nation by terrorism worldwide.
The nation had a startling 45% rise in terrorism, dropping from fourth place to second place.
