PESHAWAR: Police in Peshawar said Saturday that a man has been charged with murder after he allegedly shot the administrator of a community WhatsApp group who kicked him out of the group conversation.
Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a bordering Afghan state known for its violent past, saw the shooting death of Mushtaq Ahmed Thursday night.
AFP and a local police officer have seen police paperwork that shows a man named Ashfaq has been charged with his murder.
In a statement seen by AFP, Mushtaq’s brother said that after an altercation, Mushtaq expelled Ashfaq from the WhatsApp group.
He claimed that although the two sides had made plans to meet and make amends, Ashfaq showed up with a gun and started shooting.
