WASHINGTON: Building on President Donald Trump’s push for deportations, the Trump administration launched a new app on Monday that will enable illegal immigrants in the United States to “self deport” instead of risking arrest and imprisonment.
CBP Home, the US Customs and Border Protection app, will allow users to indicate their “intent to depart,” according to the department.
In a statement, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated, “The CBP Home app gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream.” “If they don’t, we’ll track them down, deport them, and they won’t come back.”
