The International Cricket Council (ICC) has come under fire from former West Indies bowler Andy Roberts for allegedly caving in to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at the just finished ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Originally planned to be hosted by Pakistan, the tournament was held using a hybrid format, with all of India’s matches taking place in Dubai.
The agreement was approved at an ICC board meeting, which also approved a policy for the 2024–2027 cycle that requires any India–Pakistan matches that were initially planned in Pakistan to be moved to a neutral location.
Roberts recently accused the ICC of giving India an unfair advantage in the Champions Trophy and the 2024 T20 World Cup, claiming that India was given advance notice of their match versus England in Guyana for the semi-finals.
