ISLAMABAD Two months after the verdict, the accountability court contested the conviction in the £190 million case against Imran Khan, the founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and his wife Bushra Bibi, according to The News.
The petition was filed by Barrister Salman Safdar, who claimed that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had misused its power by hastily punishing them without first obtaining the National Crime Agency’s (NCA) agreement’s text and based on an unfinished investigation.
It, according to the petition, demonstrates the hesitancy of the investigative agency because the prosecution has not fully presented its case and the inquiry involving NCA officers has not even been carried out.
