Balochistan is already starting to feel the effects of the prolonged conflict between Israel and Iran.
Iranian gasoline smuggling has long been thought to be concentrated in the border regions of Balochistan that are close to Iran. However, this entire commerce has ceased because of the closure of Pakistan-Iran border crossing points owing to the Iran-Israel conflict.
Iranian gasoline has become so scarce in the region that hundreds of small gas stations that were once found in Quetta’s streets and alleys have closed. Consequently, rickshaw drivers and other transportation owners have raised their rates considerably.
However, there is also a risk of a scarcity of LPG gas, which is anticipated to result in price increases.
