The government’s decision to not extend Afghan refugees’ Proof of Registration (PoR) cards has been confirmed by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Afghans now being deported from Pakistan will be prohibited from entering the country again, he said.
Naqvi spoke candidly with reporters on Friday about a variety of national topics, including Islamabad’s urban growth and border security.
Deportations of Afghans and security measures
The blacklisting of deported Afghans is a component of a larger change in national policy, Naqvi explained. Additionally, he disclosed that in just the first 10 days of July, Iran deported 300,000 Afghans.
The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to local participation in security forces and stated that recruitment for the Frontier Corps (FC) would proceed as usual, giving preference to tribal communities.
