Israel has increased military activity in Syria, carrying out a string of airstrikes on Damascus that targeted key government buildings, such as the Ministry of Defense, and areas close to the presidential palace.
Three people were killed and 34 injured in the strikes, which took place as the Suwayda region saw an increase in violence, according to Syrian officials.
According to the Israeli military, these operations target pro-government groups that have been accused of harming the Druze minority and are intended to protect those who they view as prospective partners.
Following a slew of kidnappings and retaliatory attacks, the strikes came after days of violent battles between local Druze fighters and Syrian government forces.
