Following Chynna Phillips’ lifelong dedication to Jesus, Billy Baldwin and the singer-songwriter are attempting to “navigate” their differences in their relationship. In a YouTube video featuring her husband, Phillips, 55, disclosed that the couple’s marriage had seen “ruptures” as a result of her reliance on her faith. Although Baldwin and Phillips acknowledged their six-month separation, they maintained that they “worked through it.” Phillips observed that Baldwin and her have “very different lenses through which to view the world.” “And sometimes that tends to cause ruptures in our relationship and little chasms, and we are trying our best to be able to navigate those differences in our marriage,” Phillips stated. For a time now, the Christianity component of it all has been a really obvious problem.
Billy Baldwin and Cynthia Phillips are two Hollywood couples who have maintained their marriage despite hardships.
“You would never divorce me, but would we be able to stay truly happy and connected and thrive with me being on this trajectory – this Jesus trajectory?” Phillips came to an end.
Phillips fantasized about being Jim Bakker and Tammy Faye, Baldwin joked, “a revival team that travels the country.” With a swift dismissal, Phillips said, “Okay, that is so a story that you told yourself.”
“It hasn’t been, become sort of the partnership that you’ve yearned for or hoping for,” Baldwin replied. “Nevertheless, you have my undying love, admiration, and support. I’m sitting here right now for that reason. We attend church together because of this. We pray together because of this. That’s the reason we discuss faith together. I do this stuff for you because of that.
“It’s because I’m a supportive, loving husband who adores his wife, wants to spend the rest of my life with you, no question.”
The fact that Baldwin believes in God but hasn’t made his “quest to have a relationship with this God” a “priority” bothers Phillips, who described it as “slightly perplexing.”
Phillips went on, “I just want you to start your journey—your faith journey.”
