Fans of the late Punjabi artist Sidhu Moosewala are feeling a new wave of grief and indignation after unknown gunmen fired on his statue in Sawant Kheda hamlet of Dabwali, Sirsa district.
The singer’s family is calling the act, which has sparked public and political outrage, a “attack on his soul.”
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken credit for the assault and issued a warning to anyone who still pays tribute to Moosewala.
“They won’t let my son sleep,” says Charan Kaur, breaking the quiet
Charan Kaur, Moosewala’s mother, shared her intense suffering in Punjabi on Instagram in a heartbreaking message, writing:
Even after his passing, my son’s adversaries are preventing him from resting. This is a hurt to my soul and an assault on his memories.
