LAHORE: On May 9, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore found Shah Mahmood Qureshi, a senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), not guilty in two cases. Meanwhile, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, and several other individuals were sentenced to ten years in prison.
The decision was made public on Monday by ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill, who presided over the hearings at a temporary court at Kot Lakhpat Jail.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court announced late last week that it would reserve its verdict and deliver it on August 11.
The court sentenced Rashid, Cheema, Chaudhry, Rasheed, Ayesha Ali Bhutta, Muhammad Fahim, Niaz Ahmed, and Ali Hasan in the Jinnah House vehicle burning case.
