Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warned against revealing the identities of bureaucrats who purchased real estate in Portugal, claiming that the nation’s bureaucracy had not been held accountable in 78 years.
The defense minister reaffirmed his demand that officials be held accountable in an interview with News. He asked if the number of plots held by bureaucrats had ever been counted.
Days prior to his declaration, Asif asserted that over half of its members had purchased real estate in Portugal and were getting ready to obtain Portuguese citizenship.
