As political uncertainty over who would form the government in the wake of the February 8 general election persists, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stated on Friday that it will form the opposition in the Centre and Punjab in accordance with party founder Imran Khan’s instructions.
Barrister Saif, PTI leader, told journalists after a meeting with the Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) in Islamabad that the PTI has agreed to sit on the opposition benches in both the National Assembly and the Punjab Assembly.
“Many politicians confront the allegations that they have power hunger, but we have decided to sit in the opposition in the Centre and Punjab, despite the fact that if we had gained the seats according to the votes we received, we would have constituted he government in the Centre,” he said.
