Recently, Anne Hathaway opened up to her followers about going through a difficult period nine years ago.
The actress, 41, just appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair’s April issue. She disclosed that she miscarried in 2015 while playing the lead in an off-Broadway production.
The schedule Anne provided, as reported by Daily Mail, indicates that she was performing in George Brant’s one-woman show Grounded, which was written about a pregnant female U.S. Air Force pilot and ran for six weeks in April 2015.
“It didn’t work out for me the first time. Referring to the role she played, Anne told the magazine, “I was doing a play and I had to give birth on stage every night.”
“It was too much to keep it in when I was onstage acting like everything was fine,” she went on. Otherwise, I had to be honest. Having experienced the other side of things, where one must possess grace in order to express happiness for another, I wanted to reassure my sisters that grace is not a requirement for every situation. I’ve been you and I see you.
Anne, who is married to Adam Shulman and has two boys, Jack, age three, and Jonathan, age seven, said she wanted to share her story so other women who have experienced similar things won’t feel alone.
