As an up-and-coming athlete, Temi Fagbenle didn’t enjoy the “masculine” perception of basketball despite her skill and passion for the sport.
The 31-year-old is training with the London Lions, who are making history by being the first British team to advance to the final of a European competition. They are gearing up for the EuroCup Women’s Final.
Fagbenle, who was born in Baltimore and raised in Hendon, London, went on to captain the United States and became the first British woman to win the WNBA in 2017.
At the end of the season, Fagbenle intends to return to the United States following an extraordinary career that saw her play around Europe in Spain, Italy, and Turkey. Prior to returning to the States, however, she aims to win the EuroCup trophy and make improvements to the educational pathway for females.
