She stressed the value of tolerance, compassion, and the support of loved ones during trying times in her speech to the British Broadcasting Corporation (Hindi). She also emphasized the value of patience, which may be acquired from experience, particularly after becoming a mother.
Mirza said, “Everyone in the world can’t like you…you learn to deal with it,” acknowledging the difficulties of leading a public life. She explained, revealing a renewed emphasis on emotional regulation, saying, “I used to be really emotional, but now I think before I react.” She acknowledged that while criticism on social media is inevitable, she chooses not to perceive it as a personal attack.
“Patience comes with age,” she noted, “but especially when you become a mother, there’s no other option. I’m happy for this change.”
