Millions of people in Faisalabad, the third-biggest city in Pakistan, are compelled to take personal transportation or ride in motorcycle rickshaws because there is no regular public transportation available.

“We have to sit together with men when we travel on qingqi rickshaws; even the drivers don’t care; they force women to sit next to men,” a woman told SAMAA TV. It’s really challenging; there ought to be public transportation with gender-specific seats and enough facilities.
The industrial city’s public transportation system will shortly launch, according to the province’s minister of transportation.
Bilal Akbar, the provincial minister of transportation, stated that 110 buses are currently in the import phase and will be operating on seven routes by the end of this year or the beginning of the following year.
Many residents complained that the absence of a transportation infrastructure led to parking problems and eventually became a significant factor in traffic congestion.
