The Old Bailey heard that 46-year-old Marius Gustavson operated a “lucrative business” by disseminating pictures of “dangerous, unnecessary and life-changing surgeries” performed by individuals without any medical training.
Through his open website “eunuchmaker.com,” which attracted 22,841 users as it grew more polished, the Norwegian national earned about £300,000.
He advertised his services, which included freezing limbs, male castration, and penis removal. Clients could subscribe for £100 a year or pay to watch footage of the treatments.
The court heard that “arch-manipulator” Gustavson had his own penis severed, his nipple removed, and his leg frozen to the point of necessitating an amputation. He also enlisted the aid of like-minded people.
Gustavson, who now uses a wheelchair and received £18,500 in disability benefits after losing his leg, appeared in court via a link from Wandsworth to be sentenced.
