Early on Sunday, June 16, three armed bandits robbed a Pakistani-American family traveling from Peshawar, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, to the federal capital, Islamabad, on the Motorway near Charsadda. The daring heist occurred in the early hours of the day, according to local police.
At two in the morning, the three thieves stopped the family’s car using a “tyre blaster,” a puncturing tool or method. They then held the family at gunpoint while robbing them of three iPhones, Rs. 58,000 in cash, and two tolas of gold.
The family that was impacted was traveling to Pakistan to celebrate Eid ul Adha with family.
To look into the incident and find the perpetrators, police established a special investigation team under the direction of SP Investigation Charsadda.
The crime site has been geofenced, and six suspects have been taken into custody to be questioned. According to authorities, information on the groups engaged in the crime has been found in documents.
News was notified by Regional Police Officer Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi that the suspects left the scene on foot during the standoff. But he gave his word that they would be caught soon.
Afridi added that the Pakistani-American family was a guest in Pakistan and that actions were being taken to find the criminals and guarantee justice.
