Transgender athlete CeCé Telfer, who captured an NCAA women’s track and field title in 2019, promised in a recent interview to succeed when she returns to indoor competition.
With his victories in New England indoor track meets earlier this year, Telfer aroused controversy. Telfer promised to win more than just a medal, though, since he recently published a new book.
“2024 indoors is going to be epic,” Telfer stated in an interview with Them. “I look forward to indoor track.” “Once more, my dreams were stolen from me. I therefore want to return to New England, attend every indoor competition, and collect every name, record, and item.
Although it may not always appear to be in the lead, second, or podium, the track meets that matter will be taken into consideration. That’s the reason my body and heart are on fire. Knowing that I can participate in indoor tournaments and still be the talk-about lady keeps me motivated.”
The NCAA is still in the process of developing regulations pertaining to transgender athletes in sports. The NCAA declared that it will adhere to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee and that the national governing body for each sport would be followed.
