Essex’s Brentwood Borough Council is interested in speaking with locals who have undergone the non-surgical procedure.
The hyaluronic acid filler technique, sometimes referred to as BBL or Liquid BBL, is not prohibited, but it is currently unregulated and can be lethal if done incorrectly.
According to the council, Brentwood’s “individual and associated companies” are not permitted to perform BBL procedures until all hazards have been “controlled.”
The council was informed that environmental health inspectors were investigating hospitalizations caused by non-surgical aesthetic procedures known as Brazilian Butt Lifts, BBLs, or Liquid BBLs performed on members of the public in Brentwood.
“People who have undergone these procedures have experienced excruciating pain, discomfort, and infections, some of which have required medical interventions and hospitalization,” a Brentwood Borough Council representative stated.
The advice given was to “seek medical assistance immediately” for anyone exhibiting symptoms.
