The SNP government was dealt a double blow at Holyrood, as MSPs supported a different resolution demanding that the government rescind its decision to reinstate peak ScotRail fares.
Following First Minister John Swinney’s first Programme for Government rolling back a previous vow to universal free school meals, opposition lawmakers banded together to take on the SNP.
All P1–P5 students currently receive free school meals. Next, students in P6 and P7 who get the Scottish Child Payment will be included to the benefit.
