Nearly 200 missiles were fired into Israel from Iran on Tuesday night, according to the Israeli army. According to the military, relatively few people were hurt.
However, according to Iran’s state TV, 90% of the missiles found their objective.
A “fairly fierce, sort of missile, counter-missile battery battle” over Jerusalem and other places was depicted in the TV visuals, according to Prof. Clarke.
After the attack, Israel’s airspace was blocked, but it has since reopened.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are “wanting to create this sense that this is a one-off salvo – we’ve dealt with it,” according to the analyst.
He continued, saying that even though Israel had reopened its airspace, “that may change” if the Iranians launch another missile.
Israel has promised that the missile assault will have repercussions, and Iran has already said that it will retaliate against any additional escalation.
According to Prof. Clarke, more than 300 rockets were fired during Iran’s most recent attack on Israel on April 13 from a variety of locations, including southern Iraq and Lebanon. The majority were shot down.
