The 31-year-old, who made her WSL debut for Arsenal against Chelsea in April 2011, participated in her 193rd match during Villa’s 4-2 loss to Brighton on Saturday.
This weekend, when Villa plays Leicester City at home, Nobbs will be feted; but, she has already “felt the love” from her current club.
“It was the buzz of the town, and everyone was praising the enormous accomplishment. As a player, it’s always satisfying when the team acknowledges that,” Nobbs remarked.
It’s unique. Although winning is the team’s main objective when playing football, making memories on your own is as enjoyable.
You need to congratulate yourself on a job well done. I could see how determined I had been to get there. I wanted to savor those in football and not let them pass me by, so I grabbed the opportunity.
“I’ve learned to never give up.”
Nobbs left Arsenal after 12 years in 2023 to join Villa, and in 193 WSL games, she has scored 58 goals.
The numerous devastating injuries she overcome while playing for Arsenal, where she won 12 trophies in total—three of which were WSL titles—had a major influence on her international career.
