When a military buddy saw him participating in a rugby match and believed his physique and speed would make him ideal for the winter sport, everything changed.
As part of his military service, Lawrence, a current Royal Marine, was given the chance and has never looked back.
on late 2019, he took his first ride on a bobsleigh. He was unfazed by the crash, though.
“I didn’t know what I was getting myself into,” the 28-year-old Lawrence told Sport.
I was wondering what was going on when there was this tremendous crash all of a sudden.
When we eventually stopped, the sound was actually worse than the crash itself, to be honest.
After kicking ourselves out, we cleaned up and went back to the top before setting off once more. It truly was a baptism of fire.
Due to other players’ injuries, he was quickly included to the World Cup squad in a matter of weeks.
Additionally, his career has progressed at the speed of a 95-mph bobsleigh racing down a track. As a member of the two-man and four-man teams, he has won 15 World Cup medals, including three golds, making him one of Great Britain’s top bobsleigh brakemen.
