KARACHI: According to people aware with the situation, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) has made the decision to formally write to the Commonwealth Games Federation regarding the removal of wrestling and hockey from the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
According to reliable sources, the POA would formally write to the federation, requesting that it reevaluate its decision to disqualify these sports, which are thought to be Pakistan’s chances of winning a medal in the competition.
Numerous people have previously criticized the decision to exclude a number of sports from the Glasgow Games, including wrestling and hockey.
According to the sources, the Indian Olympic committee is also dissatisfied with the ruling and is probably going to join POA in writing to the Commonwealth sports organization to request that hockey be added.
