BAKU: In order to address the growing challenges of global warming, Pakistan has introduced its first National Climate Finance Strategy (NCFS). This strategy aims to mobilize funds for climate mitigation and adaptation efforts, with a particular emphasis on increasing investments related to climate change, luring in foreign funding, and strengthening domestic financial systems.
On the fringes of the two-week UN-led global climate conference (COP29), Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam jointly launched NCFS at Baku’s Pakistan Pavilion on Thursday.
In her keynote address, PM’s climate assistant Romina Khurshid Alam stated, “We are proud to be able to launch Pakistan’s first-ever climate finance strategy, a significant step in our commitment to a sustainable and climate-resilient future.”
